Grant Application Process

  • New! Pre-submission Meeting Applicants are required to schedule a meeting with Foundation staff prior to quarterly proposal submission. This provides staff with an opportunity to learn about the organization’s needs and interests, and better determine if the request aligns with the Foundation’s priorities.
  • Proposal Submission Applicants must submit a complete proposal by the deadline date in order to be considered for funding. Upon receipt, applicants will receive email confirmation.  Please note that the Foundation will consider only one quarterly grant request from an organization at any given time.  Please feel free to contact the Foundation’s Program Officer Jeff Smith with any questions regarding proposal submission.
  • Site Visit Foundation staff will review all submitted proposals to determine if there is a fit with the Foundation’s interests. Following review, the Foundation will request site visits for all proposals receiving further consideration. Declined applicants will receive a letter with details regarding the Foundation’s decision and recommendations for future consideration. Site visits are held at the applicant’s location and intended to last one hour. Moses Taylor Foundation staff and Board members attend site visits to get a first-hand appreciation of the applicant’s work. For more information, please click here for Site Visit Guidelines.
  • Board Review Foundation staff will provide an analysis of all proposals for review by the Foundation’s Board of Directors. The analysis includes an evaluation of the grant proposal, feedback from the site visit and any other additional information gathered regarding the applicant and proposed grant request. Funding decisions are made during the Board’s quarterly meeting.
